ArmInfo.The government reviewed the grant program of the Eurasia Foundation for Stabilization and Development for screening mammography in the Lori, Tavush and Syunik regions of Armenia.
"The goal of the program is to prevent the development of breast cancer in women.The studies will be conducted in the age group of women from 50 to 69 years, providing 50% of participation," said Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan, presenting the program.
He noted that breast cancer among women in Armenia ranks first among the oncological diseases. "In recent years, cases of morbidity have increased," warned the minister.
The program also provides for the acquisition of medical equipment (mobile mammogram) and much more. The cost of the program is $ 1 million.
