ArmInfo.The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia revealed new cases of abuse at this time in the Committee of water management - theft amounted to hundreds of  millions of drams.

According to the materials of the case, abuses were detected in the  Melioration CJSC under the Committee of the Water. For example,  Melioration CJSC has signed several contracts for renting excavators  for reclamation works, although this function, according to the  charter of the organization, is not included in its authority.  Nevertheless, "Melioration" CJSC signed an agreement on leasing 5  excavators for the amount of 316 million 857 thousand drams.  Meanwhile, the investigation revealed that the market cost of renting  an excavator does not exceed 5 million drams, that is, the amount of  the transaction should not exceed 25 million drams.

It is noteworthy that one of the leased excavators, the contractor  firm acquired from the son of the deputy director of Melioration,  which also works as the head of one of the departments.

The investigation also revealed that the Melioration did not fully  fulfill its contractual obligations for a total of 38 million drams.  For the implementation of land reclamation works, CJSC signed  contracts with three companies, which, as the investigation found  out, did not have the proper equipment and working resources.
