ArmInfo.Executive Director of the Armenian Legal Center for Justice and Human Rights, Kate Nahapetyan, raised the question of the return of religious property lost by the Armenian people during the Genocide at the beginning of the 20th century at the ministerial conference on ensuring freedom of religion that started in the State Department.
According to her, this will help somehow mitigate the consequences of the Armenian Genocide. With her words agreed Director of Global Bureau for Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor of the State Department Pat Davis, stressing that the return of property of religious minorities will help prevent the recurrence of similar crimes in the future. It should be noted that about 300 representatives of organizations for the protection of religious property from 80 countries of the world participate in the conference.
In Washington today was launched another initiative, designed to help the Armenian people. So Congressmen Richard Durbin and Catherine Clark presented to the legislature a resolution on assisting Armenia in restoring forest areas and bringing their territory to the 1990 levels.
