ArmInfo.Today under the leadership of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan a working meeting was held, during which the preparations for the 17th Summit of the Francophonie, which will be held in Yerevan on October 11-12, were discussed.
As the press service of the government reports, Pashinyan noted the importance of holding the summit at a high level. "A large number of heads of state and government of various countries will arrive for us, it is very important for us to ensure their security, the proper organization and holding of this summit in Armenia is a matter of honor and dignity of our country, even the reasoned shortcomings are unacceptable," Pashinyan said.
In turn, the representatives of the working group established under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan reported to the Prime Minister about the work done on a number of technical issues and noted that they are working in full accordance with the planned schedule. In order to organize the event at a high level, French-speaking volunteers will also participate in the organization of the Summit.
Three days before the two-day Summit begins, a forum of foreign ministers will take place, at which a meeting of the Permanent Council will also be held. Also, it is expected that within the framework of the event an economic forum will be held, in which about 350 companies and enterprises from francophone countries will take part. Within the framework of the forum, there will be ceremonies of concluding memorandums on cooperation.
Hundreds of journalists from francophone countries will arrive in Armenia to cover the events within the framework of the Summit. The summit's slogan is "To live together".
