ArmInfo.US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills and Armenian Education Minister Araik Harutyunyan signed a protocol memorandum on July 25 "The US Embassy Program - Access .English Training."
The Memorandum provides for the organization of courses on in-depth study of the English language in the regions of Armenia. Thanks to this renewed program, over the next 3 years, more than 500 students aged 13 to 18 from 15 regions of Armenia will have the opportunity to develop their English language skills. Classes will be held in public schools or community centers, such as the Smart Center of the Armenian Children's Fund in the Lori region.
During the meeting, Mills and Harutyunyan signed an agreement on the lengthening of the terms of the already valid Access program until 2021, which allows not only in-depth study of the English language, but also the professional development of teachers and teachers, and the creation of a new program for teaching in Armenian schools. "Knowledge of the language allows you to join the history and culture of the nation," Mills said.
The US Ambassador and Minister thanked the partners of the program - "Armenian Children's Fund" and "Project Harmony International" for their assistance in the implementation of the project. To this day, within the framework of this program, 580 Armenian schoolchildren have taken courses in the study English.
