ArmInfo."Katherine-Group" and 3 more affiliated companies paid about 600 million drams to the budget, but as it turned out, they did not get rid of it.
As the press service of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia told ArmInfo, in the import of tropical fruits of the company Ketrin-Group and in three other affiliated companies - Maxfrut, Fruit-World, Melatropik, back in May this year comprehensive tax inspections were appointed, as a result of which these companies additionally paid about 600 million drams to the budget. Based on this, on the criminal case investigated in the SRC, on May 16, it was decided not to prosecute the companies in question, and to stop the case on the basis of replacing the damage caused to the state.
Meanwhile, in the course of further control measures of the tax authority, new grounds for imposing additional tax liabilities arose. The prosecutor decided to suspend the decision on non-execution of criminal prosecution and termination of the criminal case.
In the Investigation Department of the SRC, a decision was made to resume the criminal case, and complex tax inspections were appointed in the importing tropical fruits of the Kathryn Group and three more affiliated companies - Maxfrut, Fruit World, and Melatropic. The investigation continues.
According to the media, Katherine Group belongs to the ex-head of the LISA and now to the MP of the Armenian parliament from the Republican Party Mihran Poghosyan, who has been seen many times in publications about off-shore scandals.
