ArmInfo. The Armenian National Congress made proposals for the reform of the Electoral Code.
In particular, the ANC suggests completely switching to a closed proportional electoral system, including the distribution of electoral bribes and the application of an administrative resource to the number of serious criminal offenses punishable by imprisonment for a period of 5 to 6 years. The party also proposes to expand the ban on the implementation of charitable programs during the pre-election period, and the candidates or political forces violating this ban are disqualified. The ANC also stands for a significant reduction in the threshold of pre-election expenses fixed by law.
ANC proposes to clearly distinguish between business and the state administration system, emphasizing that a special body authorized by the state should deal with the business administration of an entrepreneur holding a position in political power.
At present two commissions - parliamentary and governmental - are working on the reform of the IR.
