Pashinyan: Incident in Panik village provocation directed against  Armenian-Russian cooperation

ArmInfo. The incident in Panik village is a provocation directed against the Armenian-Russian cooperation and against the new Armenian authorities. This was  announced by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan at a  government meeting on July 19.

According to him, such steps are not permissible. "Currently, the  Armenian Police is preparing materials on the incident, but in any  case, it is necessary to follow the procedures to prevent the  recurrence of such incidents," the Prime Minister of Armenia said.

As ArmInfo earlier wrote, the Panik village administration stated  that in its administrative boundaries there were exercises  accompanied by shooting (as it later turned out, with blank  ammunition), but they did not receive notification of the exercise,  so many villagers were frightened.

Meanwhile, deputy commander of the 102nd Russian base in Armenia for  work with personnel Aleksey Polyukhovich, after a meeting with the  governor of Shirak region, told journalists that at the 102nd Russian  military base stationed in Gyumri, a trial is being held in  connection with the incident in the village Panik of the Shirak  region of Armenia: "We have reached mutual understanding on this  issue, we are conducting a hearing on this incident, according to the  results, the press service will report on its results."

In turn, the governor of Shirak region Karen Sarukhanyan said that  the Russian military reported a force majeure situation and  apologized for the incident. "This happened for the first time, and  they assured that the next time this will not happen again, an  official investigation is being conducted against those guilty, and  they will necessarily be held responsible," Sarukhanyan said.  Meanwhile, Armenian Prime Minister's press secretary Arman Egoyan  said that this issue is under the close attention of the head of  government.

This issue was discussed yesterday by Armenian Defense Minister David  Tonoyan and commander of the 102nd Russian military base Vladimir  Elkanov.

It is noteworthy that for already two decades servicemen of the 102nd  RVB have been training in this area near the village of Panik, which  is located next to Alagyaz high-altitude range, some elements of the  exercises. "During the training sessions, the Russian units on the  outskirts of the village of Panik practiced the group's ambush, in  particular, the attack on the walking column of the  headquarters.However,  an agiotage that was raised by a group of  people this time is not clear, "the source told ArmInfo with the  102nd RVB.

Recall that at the "Alagyaz" training ground of the Russian military  base in Armenia this week, classes began with motorized rifle units  in cooperation with calculations of complexes with unmanned aerial  vehicles (UAVs).
