Pashinyan: Part of my briefing in Brussels airport needs  clarification

"It was like this: during a meeting with one of the EU partners, I  expressed bewilderment at the fact that after the revolution the EU  does not increase the amount of support provided to Armenia.

The EU representative reacted by stating: "Why do you say so, we  increased (support. Ed.) by 10 million EUR. "I said that we have  already returned $ 42 million in several criminal cases, and if  "shake" one of the corrupt officials known to us, so much money will  fall out of his pockets.

The point of what I have said is that a democratic Armenia expects a  much more serious consideration," the Prime Minister wrote.

When returning from Brussels to Yerevan, Prime Minister Nikol  Pashinyan speaking about his first visit to Europe as prime minister,  noted that this visit can be regarded as a visit to establish  acquaintance and personal contacts, and in this regard, we can  consider the purpose of the visit as completed. "They have only  congratulations and compliments for us so far, but they also realized  that we are not in a position to melt away from compliments and  flattering conversations. I told them that we will complete our  democratic reforms and, of course, with the support of our  international partners, these reforms will go faster, but we are not  in the status of a petitioner, I said that after the revolution we  heard many welcoming statements from the EU, but no major changes in  policy occurred, the situation is the same as 3-4 months ago .That  means, either the yield should be lowered ng the inspiration of these  statements, or change the policy, "he said. "I told them directly  that we will implement these changes with your support, or without  it, for us there is no such topic that if assistance is not provided,  reforms will not be carried out." We do not intend to turn democracy  and these changes into an object we are fighting against corruption  not because the EU demands it, but on the contrary, because our  people demand it, I told them very clearly that we did not come here  as a candidate, we will still implement our reforms, it's you You can  miss your chance to contribute to the plan to support change "The  struggle against corruption for us can not become the subject of  foreign policy bidding," he said.

In this context, Pashinyan said that recently during a conversation  one of the representatives of the EU said in amazement - how, in  Armenia was there so much hidden corruption?
