ArmInfo. Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan takes part in the informal meeting of the Ministers of Internal Affairs and Justice of the EU and Eastern Partnership countries, held from July 12 to July 13. The press service of the Ministry of Justice reports.
According to the source, the meeting is aimed at discussing issues of strengthening the rule of law in the Eastern Partnership countries and effectively combating corruption in the judiciary.
In the framework of the informal meeting of the Ministers of the Interior and Justice of the EU and the Eastern Partnership, Armenian Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan held bilateral meetings with European Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality Vera Yurova, Austrian Minister of Justice and Head of the International Anti-Corruption Academy Martin Kreutner.
During the meeting with the European Commissioner, the Minister of Justice of Armenia presented to her the priorities of the new Armenian government formed after the May revolution of 2018, and also noted the need to combat corruption. He also stressed the importance of reforming the Electoral Code. The sides discussed the possibilities for further assistance from the European Union to implement reforms in the field of justice.
During meetings with Austrian Justice Minister and head of the International Anti-Corruption Academy, Zeynalyan discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation.
