ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee instituted criminal proceedings under part 1 of Article 137 of the Criminal Code against citizens who threaten Lydian Armenia employees and their families. This is stated in the official message of the National Security Service of Armenia (NSS).
<On July 6, the NSS received a message from the leadership of Lydian Armenia that on the same day, some activists who oppose the exploitation of the Amulsar gold deposit, in an interview on 1in.am, voiced threats of using weapons against employees of Lydian Armenia and their families. Based on the statement, the Investigative Committee instituted criminal proceedings," the report said. As a result of the operative- search works, it was revealed that the persons speaking with threats are RA citizens A.B. and A.A.
According to the source, on July 6, A.B. and AA. were detained in the NSS, where they gave questionable testimony of the following content: "The statements about the murder are not serious, and in reality we do not have any weapons. Our struggle with the company is of a peaceful nature and is carried out exclusively within the framework of the law." The detained citizens stated that they regret the deed and consider such behavior unacceptable.
As part of the investigation, law enforcement agencies conducted a search in apartments, as a result of which nothing was found that was of significant importance to the case. To citizens A.B. and AA. as a measure of restraint, a written undertaking not to leave the country was used. The preliminary investigation continues.
"The National Security Council calls on Armenian citizens to fight for their rights exclusively within the law and to refrain from violence and coercion," the statement said.
