ArmInfo. Serzh Sargsyan's nephew,  son of Sashik Sargsyan-Hayk is charged with attempted murder, as well  as illegal acquisition and possession of weapons.

As the press service of the Armenian Armed Forces informs, in the  framework of the criminal case investigated by the investigation  department for the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts  of the Investigative Department of the RA Investigation Committee in  Yerevan, large-scale investigative actions were carried out. As a  result, the real circumstances of the receipt of a gunshot wound by a  resident of Yerevan David Simonyan (1984) on April 1, 2007, as well  as the identity of the alleged offender, were established.

Earlier the IC reported that on April 1, 2007 David Simonyan was  taken with a gunshot wound to the third clinical hospital from the  intersection of Tumanyan and Nalbandyan streets. On the same day A.  Gevondian appeared in the central police department, who presented a  gun and said that he had found him near the staircase leading from  the adjacent kindergarten to the basement, and because of careless  handling of the guns he fired, wounding his friend - D. Simonyan.

In the Central Investigation Department of the Police on May 28,  2007, it was decided to terminate the proceedings in the criminal  case instituted on this fact and the failure to prosecute A.  Gevondyan on the basis of conciliation of the parties and the absence  of a complaint provided for in subsections 35 (4) and (4) The Code of  Criminal Procedure. In connection with the newly discovered  circumstances, on July 3, 2018, the Prosecutor General overturned the  decision, and the criminal case was sent to the investigative  department for the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts  of the Investigative Department of the Armenian Investigative  Committee for the production of a preliminary investigation. On the  same day the investigator took him to the proceedings and took the  necessary investigative and other procedural steps aimed at  establishing the circumstances of the incident.

In the course of the preliminary investigation, factual evidence was  obtained that in fact D. Simonyan received a gunshot wound on April  1, 2007 at about 16:00 in a room located in the basement of an  apartment at 11 Tumanyan Street in Yerevan, where lives Hayk  Aleksandrovich Sargsyan, as a result of the shot fired by the latter.  The motive of the quarrel was established, as well as the identity of  the eyewitness of the incident.

Based on the evidence, Hayk Aleksandrovich Sargsyan is charged with  attempted murder, as well as illegal acquisition and storage of  weapons on the grounds of part 1 of Article 34-104 (attempted murder)  and Part 1 of Article 235 (illegal acquisition, sale, storage,  transportation or carrying weapons, ammunition, explosives or  explosive devices) of the RA Criminal Code. The investigator filed an  application to the court to elect a preventive measure against him in  the form of detention. The preliminary investigation continues.
