Former Armenian FM building in Yerevan downtown to become a business  center

ArmInfo.Argentinean businessman of Armenian origin Eduardo Ernekian plans to implement the project of a new business center in Yerevan, which will be located in the former building of the Armenian Foreign Ministry. On this July 9, Argentine  Ambassador to Armenia Gonzalo Urriolabeiti told journalists. At the  same time, he refrained from specifying the estimated amount of  investments and possible terms of construction.

According to him, the project will increase the volume of Argentine  investments in Armenia. Over the past 20 years, the  Armenian-Argentine trade, as noted by the diplomat, has grown from  zero to 8 million dollars.  At the same time, he said, there are  objective obstacles to further expansion of cooperation, such as  geographical location of the countries - distance from each other, as  well as Armenia's lack of access to the sea and a limited market.  Nevertheless, he said, this is not a reason to despair. According to  him, we must look for creative solutions to problems.

At this stage, as pointed out by Gonzalo Urriolabeiti, the Argentine  side is also interested in investment projects to expand greenhouses  in the Tavush region of Armenia. "We hope that after such a virtuoso  display of the popular position in Armenia in the form of a" velvet  "revolution, many Argentine Armenians will want to render assistance  in the matter of Armenia's economic and social development," the  ambassador said.

The Argentinean businessman Eduardo Ernekian is the owner of the  company "Corporacia America", which performs the concession  management of the Yerevan airport "Zvartnots". He carries out other  major projects in Armenia, in particular in the field of agriculture.  Entrepreneur owns Conversbank CJSC (80.94%, Advanced Global  Investments LLc - the head of Eduardo Ernekian). Earlier, on  September 21, 2017, by the decree of the third president of Armenia  Serzh Sargsyan on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the  independence of the Republic of Armenia, Argentine businessman of  Armenian origin Eduardo Ernekian was awarded the title of National  Hero. In October, the Armenian President presented the highest award  of the country to the Argentine benefactor Eduardo Ernekian - the  title of "National Hero of Armenia".
