ArmInfo. The head of the National Olympic Committee, leader of the Tsarukyan block Gagik Tsarukyan Eduard Babayan, who is an assistant to the head of the National Olympic Committee, as well as an employee of the Main Directorate of the State Security of the Police, was charged with the head of the security.
Babayan, in particular, is charged with the group cruel beating of father of the boxing world champion in juniors Nikolai Arutyunov Vyacheslav Arutyunov, the deliberate infliction of a serious life-threatening injury to him. Babayan was arrested on July 5 in the framework of this case. The investigation continues.
As previously reported by the investigative body, the incident occurred during the meeting to the Olimpavan complex owned by Tsarukyan. Vyacheslav Arutyunov, in particular, expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that Tsarukyan did not keep his word and did not release his son from the army, who became in 2012 a boxing champion among juniors. This extremely disliked Tsarukyan, who, based on Arutyunov's initial testimony recorded by the Special Investigative Service, struck him, and later the guards of the oligarch, led by Babayan, joined the trial. As a result, Arutiunov was hospitalized with severe injuries.
It is noteworthy that after a few hours the victim changed his initial testimony, assuring that he is on good terms with Tsarukyan, that he got injured because he slipped on the wet floor, as in the famous film: "I slipped, fell, woke up - plaster ". Just unlike the hero of the film, Arutyunov received not closed, but multiple open fractures. Subsequently, Police Chief Valery Osipyan stated in an interview with journalists that he does not believe in the history of the victim with "slipped, fell, woke up - plaster." "You can guess what caused the change in his testimony," the chief policeman hinted, after which Babayan was arrested.
It is noteworthy, however, that the investigation, despite the SIS's statement on Tsarukyan's involvement in the beating, does not take any measures against the latter.
