ArmInfo. Chairman of the National Assembly Ara Babloyan visited the US Embassy in Armenia on July 3 in connection with the Independence Day of the United States. He congratulated Ambassador Richard Mills, embassy staff and the friendly people of the United States on the 242nd anniversary of independence.
As the press service of the Parliament reports, Babloyan stressed the importance of the Armenian-American friendship and close cooperation. The head of the parliament also congratulated our compatriots and US citizens living in the United States, who in every way contribute to strengthening and deepening the friendship of the two peoples.
Thanking Babloyan for his visit to the embassy, the US ambassador said: "We have strong relations between our two countries based on common values, and I know that communications reach US congressmen who have close contacts with many MPs of your National Assembly. on behalf of the American people, and in the evening we will celebrate our Independence Day together with the Armenian people."
Referring to the events in Armenia, the head of the Parliament stressed the importance of constructive changes in consolidating democracy in the country, and also in this context the need to conduct the expected extraordinary parliamentary elections in a free and fair environment.
In his conversation with Ambassador Babloyan also expressed concern over the accumulation of military hardware, the manpower of the Azerbaijani side on the Armenian-Azeri border and the Artsakh-Azeri contact line. The Chairman of the National Assembly stressed that any attempt to destabilize the situation by the Azerbaijani side would be a grave threat to regional security and peace.
