ArmInfo. The company "H.P.N. PROJECT" Limited Liability Company (LLC), which belongs to the brother of former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Levon Sargsyan, returned the damage to the state in the form of tax arrears totaling 800 million AMD or about 1.7 million US dollars.
As the press service of the Armenian State Revenue Committee reminds, in early May a criminal case was brought against the company because of tax evasion through the deliberate launch of bankruptcy proceedings.
During the preliminary investigation it was established that during the activity from 2013 to 2017 the company paid to the budget only 3.5 million AMD, while it was supposed to pay 147 million according to the accounting statements. Another 140 million AMD of VAT arrears were simply hidden from the supervisory authorities. For the purpose of non-fulfillment of obligations on tax and other deductions, the management of the company artificially brought it to the procedure of bankruptcy.
Levon Sargsyan was the head of the executive body of the Pyunik Foundation and the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia on special assignments.
