ArmInfo. In every country that faces revolutions and shift of ruling elites, revelations, arrests and detentions are conducted, political scientist, Director of Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan stated at the press conference on June 26.
The political scientist noted that all the detentions and revelations are a natural process and events in Armenia resemble those in Georgia in 2003 and Kyrgyz revolution in 2010.
Iskandaryan stressed that any revolution is based on expectations of society and neglecting the past. In fact people consider certain individuals responsible for all the problems of the state. And they believe that in case of power shift all the problems will be solved>, the expert noted.
The political scientists also stated that the statements of the new government about eradication of corruption is an attempt to justify revolutionary expectations of this or that groups of population, stressing that it is impossible to change everything overnight. , Iskandaryan summarized.
To note, within the current month a number of detentions and high-profile revelations took place in Armenia. Particularly, Chairman of Yerkrapah Volunteers' Union, MP of RPA Manvel Grigoryan was arrested, the third president Serzh Sargsyan's brother was detained on suspicion of illegal storage of weapons. On the same day former head of Serzh Sargsyan's security Major General Vachagan Ghazaryan was detained, while this weekend a video was spread in social networks showing the results of inspection of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan's property.
