This was announced by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan at the meeting dedicated to the fight against corruption on June 26.
According to the press service of the Armenian government, Nikol Pashinyan pointed out at the meeting attended by the heads of law enforcement agencies that the fight against corruption was declared one of the most important priorities of the new authorities of the country. "In this context, it is extremely important to strictly follow the letter and the spirit of the law, respect human rights so that there are no other comments on the activities of law enforcement agencies." When we opened the page of fighting corruption, we, at the same time, closed the topic of political prisoners and political persecution, "the prime minister said, adding that at present it is very important that the activities of law enforcement bodies do not give legal grounds for other interpretations. "I think it is very important that we reach this consensus by being the first to be sure that the process of fighting corruption will continue, the second stage should become more effective, and human rights, legislation and, in general, will be guaranteed in this process, interests of society," said Nikol Pashinyan.
Then the meeting participants reported to the Prime Minister about the work done in the fight against corruption and forthcoming events. The issue of improving the effectiveness of interaction between law enforcement agencies of the country was also touched upon.
