ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received about two dozen permanent representatives of the OSCE, who arrived with a regional visit. The press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo.
Mnatsakanyan noted during the meeting that Armenia attaches great importance to multilateral cooperation within the OSCE, as a result of which important reforms were implemented in the country. At the same time, he added that Armenia in turn took an active part in the organization's activities on all three planes, and contributed to improving its effectiveness and authority.
The Armenian Foreign Minister told the guests about the latest developments in Armenia, touched upon the ongoing reforms in the country and the new government program. In this context, he highlighted the role of youth and the civil society that has taken place.
The OSCE ambassadors in turn noted that another visit to the region, after a six-year hiatus, is a good opportunity to get acquainted personally with the political processes in Armenia and assess the state of regional security. The meeting stressed the importance of ensuring the duration of OSCE projects in Armenia. In this context, Mnatsakanyan expressed his support for initiatives in this direction.
The meeting exchanged views on the priorities of the new government, regional and international processes, and around the OSCE.
Earlier, the OSCE announced the visit of 25 of its representatives to Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. "Twenty-five permanent representatives of the OSCE will travel to Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan from June 18 to 22, 2018. The OSCE delegation intends to hold meetings with representatives of national authorities, parliaments and civil society, with the ambassadors confirming support for stability and peace in accordance with their obligations and principles of the OSCE," the OSCE statement said.
