ArmInfo. On June 15, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Chinese Ambassador to Armenia Tian Erlong. The party noted the importance of the progressive development of relations between the two countries.
As the press service of the government reports, Nikol Pashinyan expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for technical and financial assistance rendered to Armenia. At the same time, he expressed the hope that it will be continuous.
The Chinese Ambassador, in turn, noted the readiness of the People's Republic of China to make efforts to deepen and strengthen bilateral relations in all mutually beneficial areas.
According to him, integration processes in the Eurasian region can be an ardent opportunity to stimulate economic cooperation. In this context, he noted the importance of continuing intensive work, including within the framework of the One Belt, One Road Initiative.
According to the Ambassador, during the year the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 41%, nevertheless, there is a growth potential in the spheres of industry, agriculture, infrastructure development, tourism, IT, etc. He also noted the successful development of the Chinese school in Yerevan.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and China in 2017 increased by 33.3% to $ 604.5 million. The export amounted to $ 123.7 million with growth of 28.4% per annum, with the import growth of 34.6% to $ 480.7 million.
