ArmInfo. President of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan signed a decree on appointing Arshavir Garamyan as a representative of the President on special assignments. The press service of the NKR head told ArmInfo about this.
Previously, Garamyan was the head of the National Security Council of Artsakh, but resigned amid the protests in Stepanakert, which began on June 1 after a fight between two NKR citizens and a group of employees of the National Security Service. It is noteworthy that according to the video materials appeared on the network, it is clearly visible that the fight was initiated by civilians, attacking the commando on two of them, and later the friends of the latter who arrived were able to beat the initiators of the fight. As a result, 15 people were subjected to the drive. The people started protests demanding the resignation of the heads of law enforcement agencies, which, according to the definition of activists, are arbitrary in Artsakh. On June 6, the state minister of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan, head of the Police Kamo Aghajanyan, head of the NKR National Security Service Arshavir Garamyan and his deputy Gagik Sargsyan, resigned. In the evening of June 6, President of the Republic of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan made new appointments to the above positions.
