ArmInfo.The most important issue to be addressed by the Special Investigative Service is the investigation of the case of March 1, 2008 events, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated introducing the new Head of the Special Investigative Service Sasun Khachatryan. He expressed hope that progress will be achieved in the investigation of cases, which had not been proceeded previously for political reasons. "There are no restrictions on this issue, a full-fledged legal system should be created in Armenia," the Prime Minister said.
To note, after the presidential elections of 2008, at which Serzh Sargsyan won the official victory, the dissatisfied opposition, along with the protest electorate, took to the streets of Yerevan. As a result of the clash of protesters with the forces of law and order, 10 people were killed. Pashinyan, who was oppositionist then, was one of the leaders of opposition movement in 2008 and was insisting on interrogation of the second president Robert Khocharyan.
