ArmInfo. Heritage Party welcomes actions of certain ministers of the new government aimed at revelation of violations and frauds registered during their predecessors, the statement of the Party reads.
At this background the Party criticizes the work of Police and National Security Service, which according to the Party, have focused only on disclosure of economic crimes remaining blind to violations and unlawfulness, that were not long ago common in the ministries they head now. ''Why do the heads of Police and NSS remain blind to illegal persecution of opposition representatives by order of former ruling regime, participation in electoral frauds and pressure on opposition members of electoral commission during elections?'', the statement reads.
In this regard the Party calls on the new government and personally Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to ensure that the National Security Service and the Police fully and not selectively fulfill their obligations to reveal crimes and establish rule of law in the country. "As a first step on this way, we suggest publishing the archives of these structures regarding the political persecutions that have been carried out." The Party also proposes to return to parliament a bill on lustration, developed by it back in 2011. "However, we realize that legitimate parliamentary elections must be held and a legitimate parliament must be formed before the return and adoption of this document, but the publication of the archives of the National Security Service and the Police and the initiation of criminal cases on the basis of these materials fit only into the goodwill of the current government," the statement reads.
The authors of the statement believe that it is impossible to form servants of law enforcement structures and hold legitimate elections while the police and NSS are working with yesterday's falsifiers and persecutors of the opposition.
At the same time, Heritage party claims that it supports the new government of Armenia, despite this, it will always raise the problems urgent for the people and demand their speedy resolution.
