Minister: Karabakh conflict settlement was and remains priority not  only of Armenian foreign policy but also all system of state and  security

There is such an important factor as the  consolidation of the Armenian society in the issue of  Nagorno-Karabakh.For us, Nagorno-Karabakh was and remains a security  issue for specific people with specific names - this is the  population of Nagorno-Karabakh.Their security and status remain for  us the most important issue. of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh is  a matter that unites and consolidates the Armenian society in Armenia  and abroad.  We are reasonable people and have firm reasons to raise  issues of our primary concern about the security and status of  Nagorno-Karabakh. We need a region that lives in the world, but not  at the expense of the security of our people. In this framework, we  want to continue the negotiation process for the sake of peace and  security of the entire region. I believe that this movement is  possible. And I believe that the peace and stability of the region  are very important for everyone. But if you notice, we pay a lot of  attention to one more thing - these processes should take place in a  climate conducive to peace. It is important, in what atmosphere do  the negotiations take place: in an atmosphere that promotes peace or  that people hate each other more. "We are supporters of the peaceful  settlement of conflicts." In response to a question about the  possibility of Armenia recognizing Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the  minister stressed: "We refrained from recognizing the independence of  Nagorno-Karabakh because we are supporters of settling all issues  through the negotiation process."
