ArmInfo. Within the framework of the working visit to Moscow, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan held a meeting with deputies of all political factions and senators of the State Duma and the Federation Council of Russia.
As the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo, representatives of the Russian legislature noted the importance of periodic meetings at such a level. They expressed their support for further steps aimed at deepening the Armenian-Russian allied relations and military cooperation.
Touching upon the recent internal political processes in Armenia, Mnatsakanyan stressed that they have exclusively an internal armenian agenda, and all changes have taken place within the framework of the Constitution and the law. The Armenian FM presented the government's program, the main tasks indicated in it, as well as the priority directions of foreign policy. In this context, the Armenian Minister touched upon the prospects for the development of bilateral relations, stressing that the Armenian-Russian allied relations are natural and logical.
The sides highly appreciated the interparliamentary interaction both in bilateral and multilateral format.
The Armenian FM touched upon the process of the Karabakh conflict settlement and highlighted the important contribution of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries, including Russia, in the peaceful resolution of the problem. Mnatsakanyan presented Armenia's position on the conflict settlement, noting that the priority for the Armenian side is the status of Artsakh and the security of its population.
