ArmInfo. Already the ex-state minister of Artsakh Araik Harutyunyan denied mass media rumors that his successor will be the head of the National Security Service Arshavir Garamyan who resigned today.
Harutyunyan said that he would be happy to see Garamyan in this post as a devoted and honest figure. "In general, I should say that Garamyan and Kamo Aghajanyan, the Chief of Police who submitted today, are legendary people who have come a long way, but today the society wanted their resignation and the authorities made a concession, I again assure that Garamyan will not be appointed to the post of state minister. But I say that the appointment will be acceptable to the society, on this issue, I hope that President Bako Sahakyan will listen to my advice," Harutyunyan said, stressing that the new appointment will be known in the next few hours.
Since June 1, protests began in Artsakh, demanding the resignation of the heads of law enforcement agencies, which, according to the opposition, are chastising republics. The motive for the action was a domestic fight between two civilians and NSS officers. As a result of the current situation, the state minister and the heads of the National Security Service and the Artsakh police have resigned today.
