ArmInfo. Many of the evaders from urgent service are in search of Armenia and, upon return, may face legal problems. The question should be resolved so that they, when they return to their home country for the service, do not face additional problems. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on June 1 before the beginning of the government session.
According to the Prime Minister, 80% of the RA citizens who are wanted are deviators of urgent service. In this regard, he called on those responsible for the sphere to ensure the legal side of the process of the return of Armenian citizens of this group. "The person of draft age who expressed his readiness to return to Armenia for military service should have the opportunity to sign immediately upon arrival the obligation that he should appear at the military registration and enlistment office at the appropriate time, and only after he violates this obligation to apply certain procedures, "he pointed out.
In response, the head of the Armenian Police Valery Osipyan assured that every recruit needs to apply an individual approach.
In addition, as Pashinyan said, among these citizens there are specialists who received higher education abroad. Thus, there is a reason to use their professional skills for the development of the military industry of Armenia. With this in mind, he urged the head of the RA Ministry of Defense to organize a process in this way in order to involve them in particular in the development of the Armenian military-industrial complex. Already after the government meeting in a conversation with journalists, Armenian Minister of Defense David Tonoyan stated that many citizens living outside the country had responded to the call of the Prime Minister of Armenia to return to Armenia and take up military service. Without naming numbers, he noted that when considering applications for each, an individual approach will be shown. To recall, in a video message on May 28, the son of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan Ashot said that he decided to go to military service in the Karabakh Defense Army. At the same time, the Armenian Prime Minister appealed to all those liable for military service who are abroad, who are already 18, but have not yet turned 27 years old. Recalling that the summer appeal begins on July 1, he called on the conscripts to return to Armenia within the next 10-20 days and go on urgent military service "in order to fulfill their duty to their homeland." With the same appeal, he also appealed to those young men who live in Armenia, who, through co-operation or acquaintance, received a postponement from military service on medical indicators. "New Armenia is not for such ways," he said.
