ArmInfo. The head of the faction of the Republican Party of Armenia Vahram Baghdasaryan denies the information that the employees of the National Security Service conducted a search in the apartment of the deputy of the RPA, businessman Samvel Aleksanyan.
"They did not go into the apartment, but inspections are carried out at the office, these are routine checks," Vahram Baghdasaryan stated in an interview with ArmInfo correspondent.
Asked what kind of moods is in the RPA faction, and whether Aleksanyan is going to leave it, Baghdasaryan said: "He has no such intentions, be calm." These are normal political ones, "the head of the RPA faction noted, noting that under the previous authorities similar checks were conducted and there were exposures.
At the same time, he stressed that if the facts of embezzlement are proved, the damage inflicted on the state should be restored.
The head of the faction of the Republican Party does not hurry to conclude that everything that is happening is a political persecution, but if the "unilateral" checks continue, and the deputies who are the target of the National Security Service will withdraw from the RPA faction, then it can be assumed that political persecution is taking place.
"It's interesting if these MPs stop their activities in the RPA faction, whether they will continue to check on them or stop. If they stop, this will mean something," the MP said.
