ArmInfo."It is a great honor for me to be in Georgia on my first official visit, especially considering the fact that Georgia has a special place on our political agenda." Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said on May 30 after a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Georgi Kvirikashvili.
"As a journalist myself, as a deputy, and now as prime minister, I have done everything possible to develop the Armenian-Georgian relations. And now we are at the stage when there is an opportunity to realize, if not all, at least most of the desires connected with the development of the Armenian-Georgian relations, I congratulate the Prime Minister of Georgia on the 100th anniversary of the formation of the First Republic, we celebrated this holiday a few days ago. These holidays are connected with each other. The proclamation of the First Armenian Republic was in Tbilisi, and this fact in itself talks about the depth of the Armenian- Georgian relations, which we must develop," Pashinyan said.
According to Prime Minister, the positive atmosphere inherent in the Armenian-Georgian relations will be channeled into a productive direction in political, economic and other aspects.
"I hope that there will be more concrete results in the work of the interstate commissions. Our states have long-term and short-term interests, the vision of which we discussed during the meetings. We have many joint projects with Georgia, for implementation of which we will apply all our efforts and will work for creating new projects, we are sure that there are no problems in the Armenian-Georgian relations, since the most important factor is the attitude to resolve them. We came to Georgia to discuss all issues in a friendly atmosphere. I am sure that this mood and the atmosphere can lead to a major shift in relations", said Pashinyan.
The Prime Minister also noted that he is very impressed by the attention and interest that Georgia expressed to the velvet revolution in Armenia. "Georgian journalists have been active in covering these events, I see those journalists who have become our relatives, I hope that the interest of these journalists will not fade away and they will be interested not only in covering political, but also economic events, and this interest will be bilateral," he said.
Pashinyan also expressed hope that Georgia at the highest level will participate in the summit of the Francophonie, which will be held this fall in Yerevan.
