"Exactly 100 years ago in the history of the Armenian people an unprecedented phenomenon took place, the state was formed - the Republic of Armenia, in which the power belonged not to the tsar and princes, but to the people,  Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the Sardarapat  memorial complex on May 28.

According to him, in this republic the Armenian people was not a  servant, but a master, this was a fateful turn in history. "Having  defeated the Turkish troops, our people achieved their goal, and the  apogee of these victories was the proclamation of the First  Republic." It is incomprehensible to the mind how the people who  survived the genocide and who stands on the verge of destruction were  able to defeat the Turkish army. The prime minister said that after that victory, always when the  Armenian people decided that they should win, he won. "This is the  formula we win, we will win always, whenever we want it. The  victory at Sardarapat was incredible, but we believed in ourselves,  in our own strength and in his victory. Despite the fact that the  existence of the First Republic was short-lived First Republic  leaders did their best to lay the solid foundations of the state.  Only thanks to the  first republic, we were a part of the USSR as an  independent country, and only because of this, we could then get out  of the USSR as an independent republic, and to get the international  status of an independent state. The main victory of the First Republic was the creation of the Third  Republic, which achieved numerous victories - the creation of an  independent Armenia, the victory in the Artsakh war, and, finally,  the victory of the velvet revolution. "No-one else will dare to wrest  power from the people. Any attempt of corruption in Armenia will get  back. Armenia will always be a free country, and today we have  created a unique opportunity to fulfill the dreams of our country.  Long live the May month of victories of the Armenian people! Long  live the heroes of the battle of Sardarapat, Bash-Aparan and  Karakilisse! Long live independence!
