ArmInfo. The Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan met May 25 with the co-rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee on the Affairs of Armenia, Yulia Lyovochkina and Giuseppe Galatti.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Justice, Zeynalyan highly appreciated the efforts of the Council of Europe to strengthen democracy, and confirmed that the Armenian government has fulfilled all of its international obligations. The minister also stressed that the government intends to implement serious reforms, and added that implementing these reforms will take into account the proposals of international structures.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the priorities of the sphere of justice in the new government program aimed at improving the judicial system, the Service for Forced Execution, and conditions of detention in penitentiary institutions. The parties also touched on the ECHR verdicts, as well as mechanisms aimed at effective implementation of the decisions of the Constitutional Court and amendments to the Electoral Code.
