In the near future, the government intends to create a new independent anti-corruption body, endowed with the necessary tools for conducting preventive, educational, operational, investigative activities. This was announced today by the Minister of Justice of Armenia Artak Zeynalyan at the seminar "Current Challenges and Future Plan for Combating Corruption" within the EU-funded program "Promoting Constructive Dialogue."
"I would like to emphasize that all possible measures will be taken to ensure full independence of the body," the Minister of Justice of Armenia noted. During the event, the issues of criminalization of illegal enrichment, the creation of warning institutions, the return of assets in the fight against corruption, the creation of a new universal anti-corruption body, the separation of business from power, the provision of free competition, the fight against monopolies and the introduction of an institution to identify the true owners were also discussed.
