ArmInfo.Armenian Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan received today a delegation headed by Dirk Shuebel, head of the Eastern Partnership Department of the European External Action Service of the European Union. The press service of the department reports that during the meeting the parties discussed issues related to the reform of the judicial and legal sphere and stressed the need to take urgent measures to increase public confidence in the electoral process.
According to the source, the EU representative congratulated Artak Zeynalyan on his appointment to the post of Minister of Justice and confirmed the readiness of the EU to support the new government of Armenia. According to him, the dialogue on the topic "Human Rights" and today the 9th session of the Armenia-EU Subcommittee shows that the EU supports not the individuals or the government, but the Armenian people.
Zeynalyan noted that the changes that have occurred in Armenia increased the responsibility of officials in terms of people's expectations. He reaffirmed the Armenian government's commitment to the consistent implementation of international commitments, including within the framework of the agreement between Armenia and the European Union on a Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership.
During the meeting, the parties also touched upon issues related to the reform of the judicial and legal sphere and stressed the need to take urgent measures to increase public confidence in the electoral process.
