On May 15, the newly appointed Minister of Nature Protection, Erik Grigoryan, received Johannes Dopfelin and German Ambassador to Armenia Matthias Kiesler, referring to the issues of Armenia in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany.
The Minister, expressing gratitude to the Government of Germany for cooperation and assistance, noted that Armenia is implementing a set of measures aimed at maintaining biodiversity. He also informed about the ongoing and prospective programs in the sphere of forestry, stressing that this direction is a priority for the Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia. Grigoryan expressed hope for an increase in the amount of assistance from the government of Germany to the sphere of nature protection.
During the meeting, German Ambassador to Armenia Matthias Kiesler, congratulating Grigoryan on his appointment to the post of minister, stated the readiness of the German government to increase the amount of assistance to Armenia.
In turn, the adviser on the issues of Armenia of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany Johannes Doppelin also announced the intentions of the government of Germany to increase the volume of assistance to Armenia, in particular, to the sphere of forestry.
