ArmInfo. The events in Armenia, where the youth were at the forefront of the struggle against the oligarchs, created a great mood of protest in Georgia, which will be continued. Georgian Ex President Mikhail Saakashvili said this on Rustavi 2 TV, commenting on the two-day protest of young people in Tbilisi who advocated the liberalization of drug policy.
According to Saakashvili, the protest of the Georgian youth was caused by the much deeper destructive processes that arose due to the informal rule of billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili.
"There is a catastrophic unemployment in Georgia, especially among youth, a lot of other social problems that are not solved in the context of informal rule of the oligarch Ivanishvili," Saakashvili said.
Answering the question whether he does not see his responsibility for the actual destruction of the real opposition, which contributed to the coming to power of billionaire Ivanishvili and his team, the ex- president said the change of power occurred, including because of his personal mistakes.
"I will say more, it is precisely because of my mistakes that I intend to return to Georgia and correct them." During my presidency, Georgia developed and most of the state posts occupied young people, but, of course, there were distortions as well," Saakashvili said.
Several criminal cases have been initiated against Saakashvili in Georgia. He repeatedly stated that he intended to return to his homeland.
