ArmInfo. The court of general jurisdiction in the Yerevan community Shengavit rejected the motion on changing the measure of restraint on 11 members of the group "Sasna Tsrer" the day before.
The meeting was held in a tense atmosphere. Despite the lawyer's request for release on bail of the accused, the court presided over by Judge Arshak Vardevanyan rejected a petition to change the preventive measure against Aram Manukyan, Hovhannes Harutyunyan, Tatul Tamrazyan, Aram Hakobyan, Tigran Manukyan, Arayik Hakobyan, Vardan Geravetyana, Martiros Hakobyan, Sergey Cureghian, Gevorg Iritsyan and Toros Torosyan.
After promulgating the decision of the court, the lawyers defiantly left the courtroom, accusing the judge of the state treason, and about a dozen Sasna Tsrer supporters blocked the movement of transport not on Prospekt Arshakunyats, protesting the release of the group. The next court session is scheduled for May 18.
To recall, on July 17, 2016, the Sasna Tsrer group seized the regiment of the Armenian Police Patrol Police Service in the administrative district of Erebuni in Yerevan, demanding the release of coordinator of the civil initiative "Constituent Parliament" Zhirayr Sefilyan, who is under arrest on charges of illegally purchasing and storing weapons. The group folded their arms and surrendered to the authorities on July 31. All this time protests were held in the capital in support of the members of the group. In the course of these events, 3 law enforcers were killed and 6 others were injured.
