ArmInfo. Days of Europe started in Yerevan, which will last until June 2, inclusive. The head of the EU delegation to Armenia Piotr Switalsky in Yerevan giving start to the events, expressed the conviction that the Days of Europe are the days of universal opportunities.
"We consider Armenia to be part of a wider Europe and holding festivities here again demonstrates this. The events will be held throughout Armenia. This year we will visit Hrazdan for the first time, according to tradition, a wide range of events will be held in Vanadzor, Gyumri and other cities of Armenia. The culmination of the Days of Europe festivities, of course, will be in Yerevan on June 2,> the ambassador said.
According to him, the purpose of the events is to increase the awareness of the people of Armenia about Europe and its values, so that the citizens of the country connect their future with European values, such as human rights, democracy, the rule of law, fighting corruption, more equal opportunities, especially for business.
Switalsky stressed that the entire plan of events will be presented every day by the EU Delegation in detail and called for active participation in them.
Days of Europe opened in Yerevan with an exhibition of fashion that was organized with the assistance of the EU in cooperation with the club of fashion and design. Days of Europe this year will be held in 6 cities of Armenia and will end in Yerevan. Today the first open air festivities will be held in Ijevan. May 13 events will be held in Hrazdan, 19 in Vanadzor, 20 in Gyumri, on May 26 in Kapan, 27 in Yeghegnadzor, and on June 2 in Yerevan. The participant of the event will have an opportunity to get to know Europe more closely, as well as learn about programs financed by the EU in Armenia, get acquainted with the projects and learn about achievements, try food from different countries of Europe.
