ArmInfo. MP of Armenian National Assembly from the faction ARF Dashnaktsutyun Aghvan Vardanyan submitted statement on resignation, Armenian Parliament speaker Ara Babloyan informed.
At that, Babloyan informed that according to the regulations of Armenian National Assembly, if within a week after the publication of the application for the resignation, the deputy takes it in writing, then the speaker makes a statement about it, if not, a protocol is drawn up on the termination of his deputy powers. "The statement is signed and published by the Speaker of Parliament." After the publication of the protocol, the resignation is considered accepted, "Babloyan said in a statement.
To recall, the reason of Vardanyan's resignation was the refuse of voting for the candidacy of Make Step movement, MP from Yelk faction Nikol Pashinyan.
Earlier, the ARFD announced the withdrawal from the ruling coalition with the Republican Party, and the support of the leader of the "Make a step" movement, the deputy from the Elk faction Nikol Pashinyan in the elections to the prime ministers. Meanwhile, Vardanyan disobeyed the decision of the party and on May 1 refused to vote for the candidate for the premier Nikol Pashinyan. Vardanyan said that he would not vote at all, because he "saw in the processes taking place in the country a geopolitical trace." At the same time, he stated that he was ready to lay down his mandate for this.
In connection with this incident, the Supreme Body (SB) of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun asked Vardanyan to resign. The ARFD stated that the opinion of ARF Dashnaktsutyun deputy Aghvan Vardanyan, expressed in the National Assembly, is his personal decision and does not correspond to the party's official position.
