ArmInfo. The parliamentary faction of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) will decide on the candidacy of prime minister after it receives all the answers, dangling in the air after yesterday's meeting of representatives of the factions with the sole candidate for prime minister, leader of the opposition faction "Elk" Nikol Pashinyan.
The head of the RPA faction Vahram Baghdasaryan stated this at a briefing in the National Assembly on May 1. He recalled that at the yesterday's meeting of the faction, to which Pashinyan was invited, RPA representatives did not manage to ask all the questions. According to Baghdasaryan, when the Republican Party say that they will not interfere with voting, they are primarily meant to ensure a quorum. The head of the faction did not rule out that the RPA on the candidate Nikol Pashinyan will vote in "free mode", despite the fact that he was in favor of a common position of the faction.
Vahram Baghdasaryan also spoke against the idea of holding early parliamentary elections, which, he said, could throw the country back in development. Nevertheless, he does not rule out such a development of events.
For election Nikol Pashinyan lacks 6 votes, which can be provided only by the RPA faction, which has 58 seats in the parliament. At night he wrote on his Facebook page that the RPA intends to ruin the election of the prime minister, and to go to early parliamentary elections.
