He stated this in an interview with journalists in the Armenian parliament, stressing that in terms of obtaining the necessary votes for the election of problems will not arise.
According to Mirzoyan, the question of voting in favor of candidate for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan put forward by the opposition faction "Yelk" will soon be discussed with the Republican Party (RPA) deputies. The meeting of representatives of "Yelk" Nikol Pashinyan and Ararat Mirzoyan with representatives of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" faction (ARF) has already ended in the National Assembly of Armenia. The meeting with the RPA is scheduled for 15.00. Earlier, Nikol Pashinyan also met with colleagues from the Tsarukyan faction.
In response to a question about what will happen, what steps will be taken if MPs from the Republican Party fail to meet on May 1, Mirzoyan said: "Events are developing very rapidly." At this stage, the RPA and I are discussing the issue of support of Nikol Pashinyan's candidature ".
At the same time, as the NA deputy pointed out, while the "Elk" faction did not discuss the composition of the interim government of Armenia. "The government currently being discussed will be temporary, and its main mission is to initiate a number of legislative changes, after which it will hold early parliamentary elections," he said.
To note, on May 1, at 12:00, at a special meeting of the National Assembly of Armenia, the issue of the election of the RA Prime Minister will be discussed. This morning the oppositional faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia "Elk" unanimously adopted a decision on the nomination of Nikol Pashinyan as a candidate for prime ministers. Earlier, the RPA and the Tsaroukyan bloc said they were not going to nominate their candidate as prime minister. Further, the ARFD reported on the support of Nikol Pashiyan's candidacy. On the eve of the head of the parliamentary faction of the RPA Vahram Baghdasaryan announced the readiness of the RPA to vote for a single candidate. It should be noted that for Pashinyan's election to the prime ministers in the parliament, it is necessary to collect 53 votes, that is, even in case of securing votes from all members of the three parliamentary forces, Nikol Pashinyan should be supported by another 6 RPA deputies.
