ArmInfo. The Armenian Red Cross Society (ARCS), with the support of the Ministries of Emergency Situations of Armenia and Russia, and in cooperation with the Russian-Armenian humanitarian response center, provides one-off humanitarian assistance in the form of food packages (sunflower oil, rice, buckwheat, condensed whole milk) to 1200 vulnerable families of Syrian Armenians.
As the press service of the organization informs, the provision of assistance is carried out with the help of volunteers of the ARCS.
As a full member of the international movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, the ARCS is guided by the fundamental principles of the movement and has a supporting role for the government in the humanitarian sphere. The mission of the ARCS is to reduce the vulnerability of the population by mobilizing the power of humanism, in preparation for situations that could lead to the vulnerability of the population; in providing the necessary assistance, in supporting people who find themselves in difficult social and economic conditions.
The Armenian Red Cross Society is constantly making efforts to mobilize resources to respond to the humanitarian needs of the most vulnerable groups in order to alleviate their burden as much as possible.
