ArmInfo. Armenian people, taught by bitter experience, do not trust parliament and parliamentary elections. This was announced by Eduard Aghajanyan, a member of the Civil Contract party and the Council of Elders of Yerevan, from the rostrum on the Republic Square.
According to the activist, currently Armenian people have to trust only themselves. Proceeding from this, as Aghajanyan pointed out, people cannot agree to the proposal of the Acting Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on holding extraordinary elections and electing the head of government in parliament. "Only people will choose the future Prime Minister," he said.
David Sanasaryan, an activist of the "Make a Step" movement, in his turn noted that only people of Armenia and no one else have the right to decide his future destiny, hinting at the talks about the possible sponsorship of the protest movement on the part of Russia or the West. He also called not to frighten or blackmail the people with possible threats in Artsakh because of internal political tension in Armenia. "We love Artsakh, and the enemy, seeing our unity, will not dare attack Artsakh." We will build such a country so that all those who once left the Republic will return to their homeland, "he said.
It should be noted that according to the information just received, the "Elk" faction decided to nominate the leader of the opposition movement, the head of the "Civil Contract" party, lawmaker Nikol Pashinyan to the post of the Prime Minister of Armenia.
