He stated that the media have the opportunity to cover the events happening in the republic unhindered and comprehensively. According to him, foreign media are invited to the Armenian Foreign Ministry to present the situation in Armenia, as well as the actions of the authorities within the framework of the law on its stabilization, those steps that are aimed at reducing tensions and preventing undesirable developments. "Undoubtedly, in this situation, when the passions are heated up, it is important that every word and message be balanced, and here, of course, the media play a fairly responsible role," Nalbandian said.
At the same time, the Armenian Minister adressed EU's yesterday's statement on the events in Armenia and stressed that the last two days there had been meetings with international partners in the Republic, as well as with the heads of diplomatic missions in the country. "During yesterday's meeting with the representatives of diplomatic missions, I touched upon the statement of the EU and noted that the Armenian side shares the theses expressed in it and not only fully respects the right to freedom of assembly, but also in practice ensures their proportional application, in accordance with the law and international obligations Armenia, in its turn, participants of the rally should respect the Armenian legislation when exercising their right to freedom of assembly," Nalbandian said.
The Armenian minister said that a number of media outlets distorted the essence of the EU statement, regarding the detention of the protesters. At the same time, Nalbandian called for more responsible attitude to each, word, approach, statement, especially when it comes to statements from international partners, so as not to add fuel to the fire.
"I would also like to note that recent developments in the country seriously impede the work of various state institutions and companies, including the Foreign Ministry. A number of events have simply been postponed, since there are difficulties in holding them due to the periodic blockade of the office building. foreign diplomatic missions that report restrictions on their right to freedom of movement, I'm not talking about the freedom of movement of our citizens, I would also like to note that our diplomatic missions have faced similar difficulties Our compatriots have the right to express their position on the events and situation in Armenia - it's natural, but nevertheless, I do not think that hindering the activities of our diplomatic missions abroad, and their discrediting is a manifestation of democracy or patriotism, "the foreign minister said.
Nalbandyan believes that to discharge the situation it is necessary to show goodwill, dialogue. He also believes that it is possible to achieve success in dialogue and in manifestation and goodwill if it receives a reciprocal reaction, if it is reciprocal, and in this case, the country's authorities, political forces, spiritual leaders, as well as international partners issued many appeals to dialogue. "In fact, the dialogue was rejected, it became obvious at yesterday's meeting of Prime Minister Sargsyan with MP Nikol Pashinyan." This is the situation," Nalbandian summed up.
