According to Tigran Avinyan's lawyer Rustam Badasyan, his client is suspected of committing an act provided for in part 2 of Article 225 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (use of violence during riots by their participant or armed resistance to a representative of power).
Earlier, the leaders of the movement "Take a step, refuse Serzhu" MPs Nikol Pashinyan, Ararat Mirzoyan, Sasun Mikaelyan, as well as coordinators Armen Grigoryan, David Sanasaryan and several other persons were detained. Thus, the authorities tried to decapitate the movement. The police declare the illegality of the protest actions and threatens with force suppression, in accordance with the letter of the law.
