ArmInfo.Russia hopes that the situation in Armenia will develop within the framework of the law. Tass learned that the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, told journalists when answering the question whether Moscow is watching for protests in Yerevan.
The representative of the Kremlin recalled that on April 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram in connection with the election of Serzh Sargsyan as the Prime Minister of Armenia, and later a telephone conversation took place.
"We are watching what is happening in Armenia, and most importantly, we hope that everything went on within the framework of legality," Peskov said.
Previously, the US Department of State officially reacted the recent political developments in Armenia.
The Department of State message published on the page of the United States Embassy in Yerevan on the Facebook social network said that thousands of Armenian citizens took to the streets in order to exercise their right to freely express their will and conduct meetings. "We call on the parties to exercise restraint and avoid tension and violent actions," the US foreign policy department message read.
