ArmInfo. On April 17 at 11:00 pm, 60-70 protesters after the march at the intersection of Tumanyan-Mashtots streets resorted to provocative actions, using violence against members of the public, police and journalists. This is stated in the statement of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia, which arrived in ArmInfo.
According to the statement, the young people were angry at the employees of the company "Sanitek", who at that time cleaned the streets, attacked them, broke traffic lights, stopped traffic, then they threw stones at the policemen who came in, tried to take the equipment away from the media. A criminal case was opened in accordance with the first and second parts of Article 225 of the RA Criminal Code. The Prosecutor General's Office also reports that all participants in the incident will be subjected to a drive to the body conducting the preliminary investigation.
Meanwhile, the Investigative Committee in its statement does not indicate the identity of the participants in the incident (that is, they do not say that they were participants in opposition protests). In the statement of the SC it is noted that measures are being taken to identify the personalities of all participants in the provocation.
It should be noted that the leader of the opposition movement, MP Nikol Pashinyan, said that these people have no relation to activists who carry out only a peaceful struggle. "These units are formed by the ruling Republican Party, the scenario writer of the provocation is Serzh Sargsyan, the director of Shmays (former deputy Arakel Movsisyan)," Pashinyan said.
