ArmInfo. Of course, the opinion of every citizen is very important for Armenia, however, this opinion should be expressed without the use of violence, illegal actions and without limiting the rights of other people. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian stated in an interview with Armenpress.
"In accordance with the Constitution, the Parliamentary majority has the right to nominate the Prime Minister of the country, in turn, the opposition can vote against the candidate represented by the Parliamentary majority.
At the same time, any political force or citizen has the right, in accordance with his constitutional right, be it a protest action, a rally or any other peaceful action, to freely express his opinion, consent or disagreement about a particular political event.
The most important democratic value is the right to free expression of will. The point of view of every citizen of Armenia is important for our country. At the same time, during the free expression of will, violence, illegal actions and restriction of the rights of other people should be ruled out.
First of all, we must have national unity. And I want to emphasize once again that the health and life of every citizen of Armenia, be it a student, participant in a protest action or a policeman, is very important for us. "On April 13, the leader of the Elk faction, the head of the Civil Contract party, began protests against the premiership of former President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, having arranged a sit-in strike on the France square in Yerevan. On 16 April, protesters blocked the traffic of the central streets in the capital. At the same day, between the protesters and the police a collision occurred in Baghramyan Avenue, six policemen, the leader of the protest action, MP Nikol Pashinyan and about four dozen participants were hospitalized. In the second half of the day on April 17, Pashinyan called for paralyzing the work of state structures by blocking the buildings.
