ArmInfo.Yerevan is preparing for the inauguration of the 4th President Armen Sargsyan.
According to the Armenian Constitution, the President of the Republic of Armenia takes office at a special meeting of the National Assembly with the oath to the people.
According to the press service of the Armenian President's administration, a solemn meeting of the National Assembly was held in the Sports and Concert Complex named after Karen Demirchyan on April 9 for the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of Armenia
According to the tradition already formed, state and spiritual symbols are introduced into the hall before the oath is solemnly performed, accompanied by an honor guard.
This morning a special copy of the Constitution from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia was transported from the Matenadaran - the manuscript "Vehamor Avetaran" (Gospel of the Mother of God) of the 7th century.
The state flag of the Republic of Armenia and the emblem of presidential power were given to the soldiers of the honor guard by the aides of the President of the Republic. A special copy of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia to the member of the COP Arevik Petrosyan was presented by the chairman of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan, and the director of the Matenadaran Vahan Ter-Ghevondyan handed over the Gospel "Vehamor Avetaran" to the bishop Hovhann Hakobyan.
Then, together with the state flag of the RA and the emblem of the presidential power, a special copy of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and the Gospel "Vekhamor Avetaran" were moved to the place of the inauguration ceremony. Armen Sargsyan will come to the SCC accompanied by a motorcycle escort.
