ArmInfo. The main component of the Armenia-EU Action Plan for 2018 will be a component related to creative activity. This was announced by the Head of the EU Delegation in Armenia Piotr Switalsky on March 30 in Yerevan at the National Center for Chamber Music of Armenia.
In this context, he stressed that 2018 was declared the year of "Heritage of European Culture". According to him, Armenia's contribution to the development of European culture for many centuries, and its participation in the "Creative Europe" program is important for the European Union. According to Switalsky's conviction, the concert of young musicians from Brussels in Yerevan is another proof that the cultural ties between Armenia and the EU are deepening. "Ten days ago, the Armenian Minister of Culture, who is in Brussels, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Commissioner for EU Affairs, which allowed Armenia to participate in the Creative Europe program, which will open new doors for art historians from Armenia, and will provide an opportunity to participate in the various cultural events organized in Europe, " Switalsky said.
The program "Creative Europe 2014-2020" is designed to help in ensuring cultural diversity in Europe and in strengthening the competitiveness of the cultural sector. The program is aimed at improving the competitiveness of cultural and creative areas of activity, paying special attention to improving the training of people working in them and to support international mobility of works of culture. Support will be provided for international tours, events and exhibitions, the dissemination of European literature, and the expansion of the audience in order to stimulate interest in the works of European culture. At the same time, the program will occupy a key position in the implementation of the legal obligations of the European Union in the preservation of cultural and linguistic diversity and the promotion of this process.
