ArmInfo. The development of the military-industrial complex is a prior to Armenia's economic development. Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan stated at the opening of the second international exhibition of arms and defense technologies "ArmHiTec-2018". He stressed that in recent years, in the sphere of the military-industrial complex of Armenia, high-tech developments have their stable place. According to the minister, at the exhibition one may see some examples of modern weapons produced by the Armenian military-industrial complex.
Sargsyan recalled that a seven-year program for the modernization of the Armed Forces of Armenia has been worked out, its goal is to stimulate the domestic military-industrial complex not only for the needs of the republic, but also for the further export of military products. "We hope that the exhibition will become a good platform for dialogue between representatives of scientific, industrial and military circles with a view to further developing international cooperation," the minister said.
The exhibition will be held on March 29-31. At the opening of the exhibition were made by Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan and Deputy Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Valery Semerikov. "ArmHiTec -2018" aims to become an effective platform for dialogue for military, scientific and business circles of the participants. According to the organizers, pavilions of both Armenian and foreign organizations, including from Russia, India, Germany, Italy, France, China and other countries have been opened at the exhibition. The President of the Republic was familiarized both with the achievements of Armenian organizations in the sphere of armaments and defense technologies, as well as with the exhibits of foreign organizations. Within the framework of the second international exhibition "ArmHiTec -2018", a scientific and practical program is planned for participation in which delegations from more than 10 countries and the delegation of the CSTO arrived in Armenia.
